How to delete your ENOMOTIA account on the website or in the mobile app, how long you have to change your mind, what is deleted, and what is kept, for how long and why.
1. Sign in to your account on the website.
2. Press the cog at the right of the top bar and choose My account.
3. In the Delete the account section at the bottom of the page, press Delete the account….
4. Type your password and press I want to delete my account. Your password is asked for again here because a session somebody forgot to close should not be enough for someone else to delete your account.
5. When asked to confirm, press Yes, delete my account. The screen shows the day and time your account will be deleted.
1. Sign in to your account in the ENOMOTIA app.
2. Tap the cog at the top of the screen; Settings opens.
3. In the Delete account section, tap Delete account…, type your password and tap I want to delete my account.
4. When asked to confirm, tap Yes, delete my account.
The app sends exactly the same request as the website. Everything on this page applies to both.
The moment you confirm, your account is frozen: you are signed out on every device and nobody can sign in to it. The account is deleted two days after your request.
An email with the subject ENOMOTIA — your account will be deleted arrives at your account's address. It gives the date of deletion and has a Restore my account button. If you cannot see it in your inbox, check your spam folder too.
If you change your mind, press that button before the two days are up and enter your password. Your account comes back exactly as it was and you can sign in again. The link alone is not enough, your password is needed too: somebody who reads your email cannot decide for you.
If you forget your password during those two days, set a new one with Forgot my password on the sign-in screen; the restore button works with the new password as well.
Once the two days are up, the deletion cannot be undone. Even if you write to us, we cannot bring the account back.
If you have forgotten your password, press Forgot my password on the sign-in screen of the website or the app and enter your account's email address. Use the link in the email you receive to set a new password, sign in, and follow the steps above.
If you no longer have access to your account's email address, or cannot delete the account yourself, send your deletion request to the address below. Writing from your account's email address lets us verify you faster; if needed, we will ask for further information showing that the account is yours. We do not delete an account until we are sure it is yours.
Once we have verified a request, we carry it out within thirty days at the latest and let you know. There is no two-day wait on this route: your account is deleted as described below the moment we carry out the request.

We stop a Pro subscription bought on the website along with your account. When the two days are up and your account is deleted, we straight away cancel, with our payment provider Stripe, every Pro subscription you bought on the website that is still running, whichever world it belongs to; none of them is charged again. If Stripe cannot be reached at that moment, we keep trying to cancel until it can be; if a renewal is charged in the meantime, we refund that payment to you.
We cannot stop a subscription bought from the App Store or Google Play. It is tied to your store account, and the store keeps renewing it even after your ENOMOTIA account has been deleted. Stop it in the store's own subscription settings; you can do that before or after you ask for deletion.
Your account is frozen during the two days, but your subscription carries on; if you restore your account, your Pro membership stays exactly as it was. If the renewal date of your website subscription falls within those two days, the payment is taken as usual. If you do not want that, stop the subscription from the Pro screen in the game before you ask for deletion; once the account is frozen you cannot reach the Pro screen.
Seals and Pro belong to your player in the world they were bought for. When the account is deleted, your unspent Seals and any running Pro membership end along with it, in every world; they do not move to another account. Neither deleting an account nor the cancellation of a subscription that follows from it triggers a refund by itself; your refund rights are set out on the Refunds and Withdrawal page.
When you delete the account yourself, once the two days are up — or, for a request you sent by email, the moment we carry it out — the following is deleted or changed so that it identifies nobody. This cannot be undone.
Your account: your email address, your display name and your password's hash are removed from the account. Nobody can ever sign in to it again.
Your players in each world: your player name and the names of your cities in every world are replaced with names that identify nobody. You leave your alliance; your agreements and offers end, and your market orders are withdrawn. Your armies and ships that are not in battle are disbanded, and foreign troops stationed in your cities are sent home. Cities nobody else has business with are removed from their island; a battle in progress is not cut short, and the city's turn comes when it is over.
What you had made for yourself: works you had made with Seals, such as your portraits, and their pictures.
What you wrote to us: suggestions and bug reports sent from the BETA page, the pictures you attached and our replies to you.
Other records that could identify you: your former names; email change and verification links; pictures uploaded for a design; the original of your messages refused by the automatic check, or published with some words hidden, as kept with the moderation record; the notification records of your browsers and phones.
Device details in the sign-in records: browser and operating system, languages, time zone, screen size, platform and app version.
The following remains after your account is deleted. Each item says how long it is kept and why.
Other players' history: battle and spy reports, diplomatic records, and the messages you wrote in chat channels and to other players. These are those players' records; the text of your messages stays too, but a name that identifies nobody appears in place of yours. They are deleted at the latest when their world closes.
Moderation records and reports about you: complaints, sanctions, appeals and reports other players made about you remain until their world closes. They are needed to account for the decisions taken and to review an appeal fairly. Your name and your city's name do not appear in them.
Purchase records: orders, payments, refunds, Seal transactions, store transaction records, the consent you ticked when paying, and the record of monuments you had made with Seals. Tax and accounting law requires us to keep them; in the United Kingdom that period is six years from the end of the financial year in which the purchase was made. If you paid on the website, your email address also stays in your payment record for that period. Stripe, which takes payments on the website, and the App Store and Google Play keep their own records under their own obligations.
Sign-in and device records: IP address, an irreversible hash of the device cookie or of the app's installation ID, whether you used an iPhone or Android, and dates. They are kept for twelve months from when they were last seen and are then deleted automatically. These records are how we notice someone who deleted an account evading a sanction or getting around the rules with a new one.
Technical logs: server operating logs, such as the time, address and result of a request, are kept for ninety days.
The anonymous account record: the account record itself is not deleted, because orders and Seal transactions point to it. Your name, email address and password do not remain in it; details such as the date the account was opened and which version of the Terms of Use you accepted do.
Administrator records: the record of actions our administrators took on your account remains, for example carrying out a deletion request you sent by email. When your account is deleted, your email address and your names are removed from it; the record refers to your account only by a name that identifies nobody.
Free Pro period record: the irreversible digest of your address and the world your free Pro period was given in remain until that world closes. You may open a new account with the same address and play, but no second free Pro period is given in that world.
If a legal claim or investigation is under way, the relevant records are kept until it is over. All of these periods are also set out in the Privacy Policy.
